1988

XP PLC founded by James Peters in the UK as a specialist distributor of power conversion products

1998

Company starts to private label products with the XP brand

2000

Lists on the London Stock Exchange and acquires two North American companies: ForeSight Electronics, a distributor and value-added engineering company based in California, and International Power Systems, based in Massachusetts, a company specialising in private labelled products

2002

Acquires Switching Systems International, a California-based company with its own configurable product line and design team with outsourced manufacturing. This transforms the company's business model from distributor to designer

2006

XP Power becomes a manufacturer through a joint venture with its main contract manufacturer and starts production in its Chinese facility, 100km northwest of Shanghai

2008

The manufacturing joint venture is bought out and the company starts construction of a new state of the art facility on the existing site in Kunshan

Joins Responsible Business Alliance and launches XP Power Environmental Committee

2012

The company opens the most environmentally friendly manufacturing facility in the industry near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and starts production of magnetic components

2014

The first production of power converters begins in Vietnam

2015

Acquisition of California-based EMCO High Voltage, expanding the company's product line into high voltage DC-DC modules

2017

Acquisition of Comdel in Massachusetts, expanding the company's product line into Radio Frequency (RF) power conversion

2018

Acquisition of Glassman High Voltage in New Jersey, expanding the company's product line into the high voltage/high power market

Doubles the size of manufacturing facility near Ho Chi Minh City and triples Vietnam revenue capacity

2020

Admitted into the FTSE250

2022

Acquisition of FuG Electronik GmbH and Guth Electronik GmbH in Germany, extending XP Power’s high voltage capabilities in Europe
